Teacher Tip

Christmas Party
Try a brunch for your classroom party this year. Serve hot chocolate with candy canes for a hot, minty treat. Muffins, fruit, cheese cubes, and orange juice create a no-stress, delicious brunch. Pass out holiday pencils and erasers from a giant stocking as they come in the door. Then show the original movie, The Christmas Carol, as they eat. (Read The Christmas Carol book to them in advance. Start reading now so you’ll be finished by party day.)
Remember to check you school’s policy for showing movies and celebrating holidays before you plan.
Also, don’t do all of this yourself; parents and students can help plan and cook.
